first up is the pics from the lifter king of clubs show/race at barona, if you were in socal and missed it, well you screwed up so be sure to make it next year. great turn out, great racing, good food and the weather was nice a little warm but that just meant the guys at the ice cream truck and slurpee deal were busy.

hey justin when was dodes open house was it on sat? i drove my roadster to bonsall then to rainbow.

 

dode's party was on sunday, billy you should have made it down to the king of clubs if you were that close on sunday. they needed more cars to run in the flathead cl***, i think there was 4 flatheads running and were all bean bandit cars.

magoo no chick pictures from your show, there were tons of them there but didn't get as many pictures as normal since i was running the car.

scotty, roy's already heading back your way, he was planning on leaving monday morning. said there was something going on back there this weekend he wanted to go to. knowing the way he drives he's probably pulling into his driveway about now

 

Is there any info on that roadster, Dodie?

 

the dodie roadster belongs to tony, i think he's on here or was at one point. it's been awhile since i got the story on it but i think it was a movie car and the leads name was dodie, it doesn't have anything to do with dode of dragmaster other than tony is buddies with him. it is a really perfect car, that he's getting to the point of being a driver again so hopefully we'll see more of it around socal soon.

 

i thought the show was sat thats when i was in bonsall.

billy did you at least make it over to dodes on saturday or just go for a nice drive? i'm sure the boys were all up there cleaning and setting up for the party.

i didn't get much time to talk to dode but did mention to him that i ran the 34 with the pontiac engine he built for me, his only comment "darn that things still in one piece"

 

Justin I got the ok from the track for a new race cl***, It will be a traditional cl***: everything on the car must be prior to 1960 , it must have a three speed ****** and a banjo rearend , the overhead engine must be pre-1960. Hey if my wine and cheese buddies show up from Burbank, I'll even race. Any way, see what kind of feedback you can get from the guys.

it was a movie car from the 50s, just watched it on fmc. called "teenage rebel". in the movie it had a 2 carb setup, and then he gets a 4 carb intake from this girls dad for taking this girl out on a date.

 

If you guys want to see a kool video of the party, go to You Tube and type in Dode's party. Make sure you turn up your speakers when they start the dragster.

 

Okay, so now that this 3 year old thread has been brought back to the top, I'm going to take this opportunity to ask about the primered Model A in this picture. I think there was a little picture of it in the Mooneyes catalog years ago and I've never forgotten it. Something about the brutal simplicity of it has always stuck with me.

Does anybody know whose car it is/was? Are they a HAMBer? Where is it now?
