Jeez John , I'm glad you got the Acme Stabilizers on your Van & got back upright that is one helluva lean you got going on there .

This is my favorite rest stop on the drive home.

Limey Steve and Jeb will remember this place from a few years ago when we all went to the Round Up.

 

Another Acme business.....

 

The highlight of the day was when we stopped to take some photos over the fence at a ghost town that is privately owned (and closed to the public). A guy inside the fence came over to ask about the Acme van and I asked if he would let us in to look around. He ended up giving us a personal tour of the inside of every building and spending over an hour showing us around.

The Acme van opened another door...

That Tips Engine Works iron piece is pretty cool. I guess it's part of an old cast-iron stove? I think the Walter Tips Company still exists in Austin. I remember them back in the 1980s when I worked at an auto parts store. Their historic hardware store building still exists on Congress Ave. in Austin. Here's some cool history:

Did ya hear Norwell butchered a deer on the way home last night........everyone is fine('cept the deer) but he will need a new front end on the late model truck....Great seeing you and Cynthia and so glad it all worked out this [ast weekend.
