Posted a little on this project on other forums but thought I would share here as well. Building a '48 Anglia pretty much for strip use only. Steel body, doors and deck lid, while the rest is all fiberglass. Going to try and run a boxed stock frame that will have a 12 pt. cage, coil overs, ladder bars, straight axle with transverse spring.

    Currently getting together a 496 BBC, TH400 and a 9" as well.

Tons of details on parts and plans but I guess I will add as I go on this. Here is the body:

...and here is the frame on the jig ready to be worked on:

Made a little progress....geez this thing is a rough pig! Mocked up rear end, motor, and trans. Also cleaned up the frame a little and got the body sitting on the frame.

Got some measurements on where things are going to sit. Hope to get the body sitting straight and start some cage work this next week.

Very nice project! But you'll probably have to change the name to "Chevy Magic" now! ;)

Not much to report. Cut the cross bracing out and threw a seat up in there to see where things will fit. Got some rust issues to fix on the body, before we weld it back to the frame. Also cut and pre fitted the main hoop for the cage.

No pics.....I would ahve been in them and ruined the shots! LOL

Hope to post some more pics by next week.

Just sharing some pics of the next project. 48 Thames. I was told it ran at US 30 but I cant find any old pics with Thames. There are a few colors here and there left behind from old paint jobs but, looks like it was red and might have been yellow at one time??? Cool chassis with chrome drop straight axle and 4 wheel disc brakes. Love the Anglia's

Pretty amazing how fast a project can come to a halt when finances are gone. Not to mention personal issues have pulled me off this project for almost 2 months now. But....back on it last night. Yay!

Didn't get a whole lot done, but the main hoop for the cage is welded in and the back bars are bent and tacked in position. Threw the glass pieced together for the front end and mocked it up, as well as my front axle just to see ho the front tire position is going to turn out.

    Here are some pics:

Next week we are going to try and get the halo and a-pillar bars bent and mounted. Also my rocker panels, rear valence, and other items I ordered months ago are finally on thier way. Small steps, but steps in progress....

you need to add a whole lot of bars more than that to pass tech duckman with a 496, specially since your behind the main hoop , just sayin ........

Updates are going to have to wait a bit. Money is too tight to proceed on it at the moment. Hoping to get back on it here in a few weeks. Having to questions on the cage work and want to make sure this pile is going to pass tech. Rule book is a little vague.
