Ararat Shrine in Kansas City, Missouri is having its first swap meet of the year on April 9 and 10 (the second one takes place September 17 - 18) and this year the swap meet includes bikes in addition to cars.

    "W

big reasons for success. But best of all for our vendors, is the heavy advertising and publicity promotions that bring in the big crowds. National trade journals along with area newspaper, TV, Radio and Billboards are used to promote these events as "A Bargain Hunter's Paradise!" and drawing crowds of more than 70,000 to each event.

Over 200 Shriner volunteers offer many services, including Parking Attendants, Traffic Control Teams, Clean up teams, Free Delivery Service! .... using utility vehicles to haul heavy items from your vendor spaces to the buyers vehicles 24 hour security "First Cl*** First Aid Station".... and more!

Our Swap Meet has moved to the former Adesa Auto Auction in Lee's Summit, Missouri located in Kansas City's southland at an easily accessible location near the junction of Route 50 and Route 291 North. Use the link to our map below to find our new location.

Just a heads up for those going to the swap meet. The location is just across the street from the Home Depot on SE Hamblen Road. The main intersection is US 50 and 291 North Highway.

The exit jams up pretty fast so head on down US 50 going east to the Ramson / Todd George exit ( next exit off US 50 if going east or exit right before if headed west). Go south on Ranson about 1/4 mile or so to the water tower and turn right (heading West) on SE Bailey. Follow Bailey back to the west till you hit the swap meet (Bailey turns into Hamblin), you will come around most of the traffic and should get right in. The swap meet parking is at the corner of Bailey and Hamblin in the old MOPAC rail lot, Budweiser is in the same corner.

How many vendors usually come to this event? Is the swap meet small or is it huge were it takes 3-4 hours to see everything? Please let me know. Thought about coming down.

It makes Lincoln look small. That was my impression the first time I went.

I will be out there on Saturday. Don't expect it to be near the swap it used to be. The fall was a joke! As long as they are in that location I won't be setup to sell! Not worth it for no more crowd then they can draw over there.

I work with one of the guys involved in this, four months ago they had over 200 signed up to sell, he's been busy so I don't know the final count. 3-4 hours should cover it if you go fast. Should be lots of food and drink, and plenty of rides back to the parking area. Its a long walk from the parking lot so wait for the shuttles.

This is the best lot they can find, no one wants to lend them space. If you have a idea for a good location, please see one of the Shriners and let them know.

it was down from last year for vendors and spectators. Sales were down, but I didn't have much , got a few deals with the little time I had to walk .
The crazy weather may have deterred some even though sat day was real nice
