Where might I find this? I am fixing up my old high school ride that has not been licensed since 1975! Can't find ***le or last registration. Figured I will at least need the VIN before heading to the DMV.

    Thanks

  2. it's stamp on top of the driver's side frame rail , somewhere between the firewall and front crossmember. you may need to s****e it to see it , years of rust/dirt/paint/grease may be hiding it

And actual primary number is on top center of bellhousing, if the thing still has its original trans. This is almost always much more readable than frame stamp.

When you find it on the frame lay a piece of paper over it and scratch it over with a pencil. That gives you an impression to take to the DMV. Then make sure you keep it in case you have to weld over it for anything. Just my 2cents. Good luck.
