magnuflux & machining prices

    i have a 392 block im going to have magafluxed, bored, and all that good stuff. what are some basic prices for the work? im going to give a few shops a call this week, but i want to kind of have an idea of whats a good price and not.

    fella i use charges $18.70 a hole to punch it over. Thats hone and fit as well. $90 to completely degrease. Thats all i can remember

    i was expecting it to be a lot more expensive than that, hopefully i can find those kind of prices here in southern california haha. Thanks

    I think you will find the hourly rates will vary little from shop to shop, its how much time they expect to do the job. In the end for me its all about whom you trust to do the work . Machining is not all about how long it takes to bore the hole , etc . But is a total of what it took to get setup to do the work. The guy I use is not cheap , however he stands behind his work and does a quality job every time.
