Guys if you have a post Flathead era Ford V8 engine and are contemplating a swap into the cramped engine bay of an early Ford or whatever, check this out: http://www.daviescraig.com.au/Electric_Water_Pumps-list.aspx

This remote mounted OEM quality water pump system might be a great way to clean up a whole host of fitment issues. It is very conceivable that you could fit even the largest and longest of modern Ford engines like the 429- 460 into a place formally occupied by a Flathead if you could eliminate the length of the stock mechanical water pump, and do it without hacking the firewall. Check it out, it may work for you.

    Good video on the subject:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrfux_-6RVw
