I just scored a front and rear axle from a 48 pick up, complete with brakes and steering. I have a couple questions: Can I just knock the kingpins out of the '48 front axle and swap the whole mess, spindles and all, to the "A" axle? In the rear: Can I use the backing plates and then find a set of p***enger car drums to use? Or better yet, use my existing drums off the "A"? Thanks In Advance
i'm using 51 ford truck brakes and spindles on the front of my heap. i just mounted the whole ***embly on the older axle. it's just that easy up front. Zor
Ok. Well, to answer my own question. By simple tape measure mathmatics, the rears will not fit! GREAT! Anyone want a complete 48 F-1 rear axle for CHEAP!
