Years ago a guy I worked with gave everybody nicknames that all started with "Charlie"...there was "Charlie Long-Hair" for the hippie in the shop, and...you get the idea. Since my last name begins with "Led" my nickname became CharlieLed. I guess it was just coincidental that my first name really is Charles.

My name is in honor of ol' Henry himself, the person that first put performance in the hands of everyday folks. Before him fast cars were the exclusive playthings of rich playboys. Thanks for think'in of us "Hank"!

Johnny Storm or Jstorm for short was the human torches secret identity. Since i like to play with fire and my body temp is higher then normal my freinds started calling me the human torch so i adopted his secret identity as my alter ego. everyones girlfriends used to huddle up to me in the winter because i was the warmest one around, not to bad when i was single.

Kinda like part of my surname mixed with one of my obsessions, that sort of thing.

I can't be arsed to go and look through everybody else's posts but has Mart taken part in this thread? I'd like to hear his explanation....

THX-138 was the licence plate on the yellow 32 in American Grafitti. It is my dads ebay name so I went with THX-138JR

It's also the name of a post-apocalyptic sci-fi flick with heavy Orwellian overtones. The guy I rap/produce with is obsessed with the film and we've sampled the dialogue several times.
Watch it if you get a chance...

That would be THX 1138. George Lucas had to shorten it to THX-138 to use it as the license plate on Milners coupe in AG. THX 1138 was Lucas' first "big" shot into the movie world. Thats movie is also where the name of the THX sound system you see in movies comes from.

No, I'm not a THX 1138 cult member. I like some of the other movies Lucas made, so thats how I know. Can you guess which ones by my signature? :D

I was on here for a week as creepy and then meltdown happened. That moniker came from the movie "Love and a 45". Creepy Cody and Dinosaur Bob are two psycho hitmen. I came back as Creepwagon..........wagons rule and it hauls me around daily.

  14. I was registering for a site once, and my usual name was already taken. As I sat there trying to think of another one, my dog walked by. His name is Desmo. (Yes, from "desmodromic". I like Ducatis)

The name I used to use was from an inside joke that wasn't all that funny to begin with, so I've been using "DesmoDog" ever since.

Well I must have no imagination either cause it's just my first & middle name. I used to use jabberjaws (said jj outloud) cause I simply could not stop talking... regardless of where i was. There was a younger version, 'shortstuff' (the name says it all) and then I grew up, lost imagination and just use Diana Lee

I like nicknames I have to figure out... just so long as they're not *too* hard  sort of like custom plates... I have to have just enough time to figure them out before either they leave me in the dust or vice versa.

"Forget about your Hemis and your GTO's,
    I got a mean machine
    man, she really goes
I've been burnin' rubber all over this town
I'm in high gear and I'm headed straight down!

It's a Hot Rod to Hell..."

Plus they also ask "why doesn't your shop sell any go kart parts?";)

As for my name, "Mike" is a shortened version of "Michael", "Michael" is a derivative of the French "Michelle", which means stupid looking blonde-headed goon.

When I first met a friend of mine's dad. He asked if I was catatonic, because I am real quiet and laid back. I just thought it sounded kind of cool so I used it.

Well that's easy. I am originally from the coal mining town area of Pennsylvania,...Polish-Italian. My great grandfather was a coal miner on Dad's side and those guy's were some tough SOB's in their day,..I heard the stories!!! I am from a coal town up there in PA, ("Coal + Town") and since they were some crazy tough boys back then I can equate them to all those western gunslinger names...("kid") plus this is my first old jalopy so I'm still a learnin' the ropes!

    hence,...

    "Coal Town Kid"

I've always wanted a '32 and now that I have one, I'm NEVER selling it!! The "4 Life" thing was lifted from the old WCW/NWO wrestling gimmick. (Sorry, Jessie James)
