Sorry for your family's loss, Chris.

It sounds like you have a handle on the situation as you are already thinking about all the good things you shared with him.

Moving tribute to a good, hard-working man. We should all be blessed to have so much life in our years. You yourself are proof that the American family and its values are alive and well. God bless your grandpa and you all! Thanks for letting us know him.

Thanks guys. He was tired and ready to go. He lived alone and still drove up until 2 months ago. He was sharp as a tac right up until the end. I can only hope for the same.

I asked him the other day what the most valuable invention he has seen in his lifetime.

His answer? The spare tire. Whodathunkit?

Thank you for your story. A p***ing life is always so sad, but your grandfather was fortunate to enjoy so much time on earth. Your family was also fortunate for that. That is some consolation.

Thanks for sharing your family with ours. He sounds like a man that you should be proud to be related to. Take some comfort in the fact that he is in no more pain.

    RIP - Grandpa

Chris, my deepest condolences. What a man your grandpa must have been. I, too, love the story about the sandwich.

  22. Hey Chris, I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa, but at the same time you gave me a good smile and a chuckle or two reading about his life and his great at***ude. Looks like 4 generations of very good men in that photo. Be proud.

It's posts like yours that keep me coming back here.
We're losing the whole generation of WW II era hot rodders & car guys these days...Depression era kids who went off to war and brought their mechanical skills & daring back home and created this obsession.
Without posts like yours their stories will be lost.

    R.I.P. Mr.LaGrange.
You may have left the planet but you live here in these pages.

We did something that I am grateful about. We hired a professional film maker to interview him. He would come over for a few hours each day and do***ent his life. I have it on DVD. I had never watched it until last night. I would advise this for anyone that has a loved one that they would like to know more about.

I found out that he used to service Wiley Post's airplane as a kid. He never metioned that.

Chris.... sorry to hear that your grandfather p***ed away. But sitting here reading your posts about him I smiled and had tears in my eyes at the same time. This is the way we are suppose to remember family members when they are called home. One day we will all see our loved ones in heaven and it will be a time of great rejoicing.....

I have a picture of the Winnie May on my office wall, Mom's buried in McAlester and a lot of her family grew up in the coal mines of eastern oklahoma..Those Okies are a hearty breed who put a lot in Faith,Family, and
working hard for what they have...he's left you and your son a strong tradition...Bless each of you and let everyday be a celebration of him thru your actions
