I was hesitant to put these up but,Heres a few pics of my new ride,
Ive been round track racing for over 25 years and its time for a break or change or whatever you call it,

This is being built with nothing but fun in mind,
Its a cross between new and old because of the speed I want to achive, and Im trying to do this with safety in mind, but still salute my favorite era of car.
And it will be bare bones ,no electronics,no nothing

I picture myself as a last holdout,Still running early Olds power in a fed when the Hemis took over

So with some help of some great freinds, this is the point we are now ,as I put it in some sunlight the other day

This motor is just for mock up while im building the one, I can say .....will prob be the most exotic early Olds powerplant ever built

The motor is well under way and Ill do a build tread on it later
Its specs are, 1957 Olds 371, stroked to 430 CI, Blown Injected alky
with the only stock Olds part being ....the bare block ......and everything else being the parts we make, or one off pieces for this build.
    projected HP....12-1300

    Tony

Remember many very similular!! Was'nt it the "Money" Olds that took it all back in 1960??? Still waiting for a price for Forged pistons for my Cad 390 471 project, prob .030 over maybe .060. at about 7 1/2 to 1. Any luck on them yet??? Dave

Nice! We are getting ready to build our blown Olds engine for our Te-440 rail.

    What manifold did you use?

Tony, just remember not to keep turning left!

That is awesome, but wouldn't expect anything less from a guy like you.

Nothing But Fun-sounds like a good name for the car. Looks great. 430 cubic inches? WOW. I'm still waiting for you to make an aluminum 4bbl intake, BTW.

Been looking at the injectors, are they the old-style Hilborn "flower-pot" like the kind that Tom Hanna used on his car?

220 inch wb 6.0 cert My goal is to run over 200 just to say I have,
Also the fastest early Olds powered digger I believe was 204 on fuel

With the projected weight itll take 1070 hp to run 200
my powerplant should make 12-1300 so the hard part should just be learning how to go fast:D

Just getting around to finishing the Olds motor,

When youve got a blower on top,430 ci,Injected alky,And a 54 year old Oldsmobile 371 block,Heres what I built to (hopefully) keep from driving over the crankshaft:D

Steel caps with a girdle,Got to keep her figure in shape!!

Im planning on 20-25 psi of boost,

    More to come

    Tony

That girdle is something! What a chunk, is that a single piece of aluminum?

What i am curious about, is with a handle of 'goatroper' i would expect to see a pontiac motor - what gives?
