Eddie said "It will ship in three days" at least one time a week to me and i still have not seen the seats i paid for. That was a month ago but you can try you luck. I did a search for comments on the web and found out that this is common that he forgets to give you your merchandise.
I really am not that impressed with the construction of their seats. They sent me pictures and they are built over a rather flimsy looking fiberglass shell. They claim its fiberglass and carbon fiber, but to me it looks like garden variety chopper gun fiberglass, not even better hand laid glass. Anyone actually have these seats who could give feedback on construction quality and comfort ? Or lack of those things ? By the way they also told me in the e-mail that they presently have a 3-4 weeks wait for shipping seats out and may soon be 6-8 weeks as they are busy.
A French member on Volksrods.com eventually got his seats from "Eddie Barrett", many months later, after getting some Americans involved. The upholstery looked decent, but the metalwork was disappointing. I would look for some place with a MUCH better reputation, on workmanship AND delivery time. Any business that wants payment by Western Union, is suspicious. 1000 bones, 8 MONTHS of headaches, 7 different "promise to ship" dates, numerous unanswered emails and phone calls... and as a last resort of sending some local fellas to personally visit his "shop" and the discussion of legal action... our guy in France finally had this delivered to him: Recommended?... not so much...
Look into Mercurio's speed and fabrication in Roswell GA. He custom builds all his seats by hand and the end result is awesome. He has done several for fellow HAMBers. and he is a HAMB member himself (ADRENALINRUSH)
Yes, he makes beautiful seats, heres a question, can a bomber seat be made comfortable with proper pads ? As I get older I need some comfort
I sent an e-mail to Barrett and sent them a picture of that seat. Told them how crappy it looked and also about the France thing. They responded that they were out as they had sent 2 sets of seats to France. They did not respond to the fact that that aluminum seat looks like SHIT and that a high school shop student could likely do better work. A nice way to promote a company shipping substandard crap like that to any customer.
Jamey makes really nice seats but they are too flat and boxy looking for my tastes. I prefer the style of Mercurio's . The main thing I'm concerned with is being able to achieve some comfort too.
I had the same problem as other guys have had. Took me 4 months to get my seats, numerous phone calls and unfulfilled promises. After receiving the seats 4 months later the quality was questionable. The stitching pattern on the seats were the same design but varied wildly in execution. Also one seat was two inches taller than the other because they did not use the same seat pad. When I called to discuss and showed them pics of the seat height I was told I would get a new one shipped out to me. Three years later and I have yet to receive that seat. Good thing I did not hold my breath. <o></o>[/FONT][/COLOR]
Jamey made me a set and I love them. I added pads to the back and bottom and he will make them any way you want.
Yes! He's pretty much a compulsive liar! He cashed a personal check of mine for $889.00 back in December of 2010! And Yes! Like everyone else never received anything! I am working on having him shut down! Things we need to do to shut him down are: File a Complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General, File a complaint with the Resident State Trooper of Durham Connecticut. (Trooper Peter DiGioia).
