Looking for good sources for 6x2 linakge. Had trouble w/ eelco. Not willing to risk it with vintage speed. Any other sources that can be suggested that are good quality and deliver on time?

I just put linkage from Eelco on my x1 and it was trying at first but I think it should work real good. Hope to put it on the wifes 30 tudor sedan by the weekend.

What I want to know is if I can get away with running vacuum from the carbs to the dizzy, vacumm modulator, and if necessary the pcv.

I think this thread needs a bump!

Finally fitted. Although, realised yesterday that the air cleaners look better off centre. No pic though because engine has been taken out due to high oil pressure :(

Good work on getting the thread back up.

Those stacks are stunning, they far surpass any that I have seen for sale. Can I ask where you got them or were they custom made?

I just bought these for my fuel lines. Hopefully they will look alright (not my pic).

Thanks, I made them. I saw some close to these online from the hotrod company. I work at a machine shop so I figured I'd just make my own :)

Ah right, fair enough. Must be handy working in a machine shop (and having the knowledge/skill to machine something like that!).

Your stacks look much nicer than the ones for sale. You could make money selling them.

I look forward to seeing your linkage and fuel log/block.

Finished the linkage, it will pull from the front with the cable running up thru the center. Fuel lines done. Mechanical choke linkage for the two main carbs. Now take apart clean, rebuild and put on the car

When running non-progressive linkage should the middle 2 carbs still be primary style carbs and the end 4 be secondary style without idle circuits? Or should all 6be primary style carbs?

It's ideal for the middle 2 as primaries and the outer 4 as secondaries all controlled by progressive linkage.

Yes, I understand how the carbs are set up with progressive linkage, but what about the guys who are running non-progressive linkage?

You can run them with straight linkage but you have to have enough motor as well as have all 6 synced. In my opinion it is not the most practical for average streetability. It is a proven fact that you can't take a shit load of carbs and just jet them down a bunch and expect them to run, it doesn't work that way. There are a lot of other issues to take into consideration.

Here is a pic of my sbc edlebrock 6x2 1ntake I cut up and welded to the top of my home made desoto intake manifold. I uused 6 holley 94s and progressive linkage on this open plenum setup. I ran it forover 10 years. It was a bugger to warm up the engine in the middle of winter but it worked quite well otherwise.
