QC experts, Quickchange Gears PLEASE HELP

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by jrblack30, Apr 3, 2011.

  1. I got these QC gears in a box of random gear sets. I have put the sets together and identified all of them except this last set. What do these gears fit? I have never seen a QC that had a 4 spline shaft. Any help would be appreciated.

Post the pics on the midget thread. With only 4 splines, they could be from a small QC made for early midgets. I've had Halibrand and Casale midget QC's, and they have 6 splines.

  4. I would understand the midget angle but these have the same dimension and sizes as a normal size QC. The ID is the same on all the sets I have 6 and 10 spline even these 4 spline gears, but never heard or seen 4 spline gears.

Midget gears are the same size as the V8 gears. Might be some obscure small QC for a TQ?

  6. Try giving retro4 a PM. He manufacturers quickchanges.

Ive been told midgets are thinner, but havent tried it. I have a jones midget rear at home i can try

  8. Kiwipackard - thanks, I sent retro4 a PM.

These gears are std thickness with the exception that there is an added hub ( about 3/8") to the back side, making them not fit the case I have, Nor do i have 4 spline shafts.
