I went to Turner's in Fresno this morning for a couple of parts. The donor was in an area that I had never snooped around before so I shot a few phone pics while the yard technician removed the parts. [IMG]

  2. I actually like the idea of a "yard technician" removing parts for me ... don't you guys have a ton of really nasty spiders and snakes (as well as other "creepy crawlies") down there?

I love yards like this. There are getting to be fewer and fewer. Is that 2nd picture a '42 Ford?

Man!! Would I ever like to have that blue Pontiac 2dr sitting in the shop. It would get the L-88 and Doug Nash 5spd in a New York minute.

Every time I drive past Turner's yard I miss my Dad. Went there lots of times with him to buy parts. The place he worked as a mechanic was just up the road (called Van Gas back then). There were some wonderful cars in Turner's yard in the 60's.

  16. Not only a "Yard tech", You get a ride to your parts car. I have been creeping around Turners for decades.

I'm surprised all those '40s Chevy cars are just sitting there. I guess 4-doors make better "bombs" for cruising :D

Don't know but, you could give them a call 559-237-9239. Ask for Jerry, he's the only one that knows Shinola about the old stuff.

Same as around here. Lots of those cars in the pics look in restorable shape.

  24. yard technician almost sounds as skillful as a "underwater porcelain restoration technician"...thats a fancy name for a dish washer ;p

Interesting stuff. Yard tech hopefully = the l75.00 part you dearly need isn't broken all to hell because some clown decided that he needed a .50 part off it.

  29. HaHAHAHA!!! Nasty snakes and spiders?? Over there??
We are lucky over here out of the 10 most deadly snakes and spiders we have a majority here in Oz.
I always hated the bird eating spider, sleeping on the ground in the Army and those ****ers walk over you, two hands across in size!

    Doc.

Everthing is for sale there.....if it is a complete car or truck that is the way Jerry wants to sell it. The yard is coming to an end with some crushing so don't wait.
