I'll see how many we have left. Maybe we can work a deal for Hamb guys. We tried to sell these things and nobody wanted them. Until the car turns up missing.

After the "non-response" in that small trial at CF, I did a cost analysis and decided it was a not worth the effort. A shame, because the cost vs features is super cheap. I have 46 years in the electronic security and surveillance industry and as the company owner, I think I have reasonable grasp on what is needed and where the voids are.

Cars and racing are my life's passion. Most of the people at the corvette site do not get it. Re-sell is their priority. My cars are irreplaceable. Thousands of hours into them. My own innovations. Plus many wild stories of stuff I should have perished in. I realise I am as popular as Herpes to most of them for being a corvette Hot Rodder.

I still sell to those who are interested, but I am not putting any time into promotion. Jim

  5. Well for Von and anyone else who is concerned that I may be getting locked down for my actions. One of the cops showed up at my place last evening and asked me to look over the police report. It calls the problem a car jacking and that the fella injured his shoulder while assaulting me in my driveway.

He asked if that was accurate so I said sure. He said that I probably won't have to testify because the truck was still hooked up when they got here and that they could testify to that along with the pictures they took.

Guess it helps to know some of the local constabulary.

Big Creep I really appreciate a place to crash friend. The same goes if you come this way.

Missed this thread when it was running hard, found it in a search for auto anti theft alarms. This post will serve to help me find this thread this evening when I have more time to study all the good info and links within this thread if someone else posts on the thread, as I gotta go for now
I can be considered to be "road kill on the information highway" on some aspects of forum features.
Can/will somebody educate me on how to bookmark a thread for return later?

Would be nice to do but unfortunately booby traps, even to catch or main a crook, are illegal.

Another good trick is to wire your ignition through the cig lighter, so the lighter has to be pushed and make a connection to start the car. Take the lighter with you when you leave the car or rig up a dummy with the body made of plastic that won't make your electrical conection. Simple, and effective.

Just my 2¢ on this as another option.

After my new car was broken into in a hotel parking lot, shattered glass and glove box emptied, I looked for some easy, cheap solution.
    <O:p</O:p
I picked up a couple motion dectors. The brand name is Voice Alert. I think I paid in total $120 for two remote sensors and one base unit that plugs into the wall. The remotes are 9V battery operated.<O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p

Now when I'm back to the hotel for the evening I stick one under the dash with Velcro and lay the other on the floor.<O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p

First thing I do when I walk into the hotel room is turn on the base unit. Any movement will trigger them. When tripped, your pre-recorded voice message goes off. And there's a volume control so you’re not going to sleep through it.<O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p

If not traveling I use them at home in my unattached garage with the base in my bedroom. If you break in I'll know about it. What I'll do beyond grabbing the .45, a light and my pants I don't know. <O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p

Anyway, this product is pretty bullet proof and simple to get up and running. 9V lasts based on how many times it's activated, and the base unit will flash when the battery is low. About a year like a smoke dector.

For me it’s portability and multi-use works great. (Disclaimer; I am not affiliated with this company in any way)<O:p</O:p

Couldnt make it all the way through another one of these threads buuuttt, in case it hasnt been mentioned yet. We used to use wheel boots like the ones the big citys use if you dont pay your parking fines, when I ran a storage facility. People who dodnt pay got "the boot". They take a few minutes to get off with the proper tools and they cover the lugnuts so you cant just remove the wheel. This should deter most of the oppurtunists who will probably just move on to the next car in the lot. Should be a decent bet for these guys who steel from hotels and public parking lots. Other than that whwn your home keep it in the garage and keep the door closed!
