Is there a piece of rubber that goes between the gl*** and outside of the door? The area between the gl*** and door when window is down. I have tried to find info and have gotten no where. I know most cars have a door"feather" but can find no ifo on this. Thanks for any help. I am wanting to install side windows soon.
No feathers. Look at a Mac's catalog.I think you get a couple of rubber bumpers. that keep the gl*** from hitting the metal. Not to say you can't get the material in stick form from the gl*** shop and make feathers. You must have worked in a car factory. No one else uses the term feather.
What you need to look for is "Window channel" ,this is the "U' shaped piece that the gl*** runs in inside the door/window frame. ............Jack
Try JC Whitney. They sell steel-core and rubber-core window channel. I've heard good things about this product (they don't make it themselves). http://www.jcwhitney.com/all-rubber-window-channels/p2009944.jcwx?filterid=j1 http://www.jcwhitney.com/steel-core-window-channels/p2008545.jcwx?filterid=j1 http://www.jcwhitney.com/push-on-tr...oors-trunks-windows/p2008597.jcwx?filterid=j1
thanks forthe help. I have new channels. I did work in the trim department at a old Fisher Body plant lol.
325w is right, it is 2 rubber bumpers that go in there. I am sure you could make something of your own that would work just as good. Ride looks nice.
The pieces you are looking for are available in reproduction, They are a piece of rubber mounted in a metal strip. It has been so long since i purchased mine i forgot who i got them from.
the part goes on the inside of the gl*** under the garnish moulding. On a 2 door sedan they did not use one on the outside of the gl***. It is called a window anti rattle and is avaliable from most model A parts vendors Like Brattons antique auto parts, Mikes afordable parts, snyders antique auto parts.
I did buy the new ones for the inside as pictured. I also bought everything else including the rubber bumpers. I just found it odd that there was nothing keeping water from running down inside the door. I have never owened a car this old. Thanks for the help. Thanks for the compilment. My avatar is how it looked the day I bought it 2 years ago. I didnt relise it would take this much work or this long. I bought it from a Model A guy in Lowell,MI. I believe his name was Butch. If anyone knows him I would like to get him some pictures. I dont believe he had Internet access. Thanks Lance
Ok so I put the windows in and I dont have the rubbers you speak of. Where do I order the rubbers on the outside of the windows. My windows just fall out.
