i have a 56 buick with the 322 nailhead...just wondering exactly what the square plate on the bottom of intake manifold is for...or if it possible to get a gasket for it
It's the 'valley cover' ,you can get a finned cover , finned v.c. &sparkplug covers, etc. if no-one's replyed to you yet.....I've got some '56 parts & know where more are. I'm new on here so I hope my 'address' shows up---russell-duck...if not, I'm on F.B. as Russell Guy (Picture of Caddilac) & a friend (ENLOE) has some of my parts listed on here in parts section....56 Buick's ROCK !
NO, it's a casting plug. The later intakes have a 'freeze' plug style plug. He is talking about the plate on the manifold, not the valley cover under it. Not sure if gaskets are readily available. You will have to do a little digging there.
I've seen a gasket for those, but it was NOS. Just make your own out of heavy gasket material. Should be pretty easy. -Brad
Thanks for all your replies..I found a guy in ca. that has them. I already had the valley pan gasket.
