Auto to early Flathead?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by LoneWolfNoCLub, Mar 31, 2011.

  1. I have noticed in my little bit of research I have done, there are no adapters for an Automatic trans to and early (36) flathead. I am paralyzed and will most likely end up doing my little hand-clutch conversion I have come up with using much help from felow disabled HAMB members. BUT, I am sure somebody, somewhere has made their own adapter plate(s) to use an auto behind an early flathead. If so, what parts were used? I am sure it will be easier to just put a newer flattie in there with an auto, but I have to check. Anyone?

    Thanks!

For the early Ford f/h there isn't much choice,FlatOmatic seems to be the only one! http://www.flat-o.com/carproducts/flatomatic.htm
If you go 49-53 you'll have a wider choice
    ,Wilcap,Speedway etc!
Google 'Auto to early flathead' for more info. Good luck with your venture,James!!

I have known this guy for over 25 yrs, he is about the most honest person I have ever known. He started this company after he built one for himself. His dad started a transmision repair shop and he learned it from the ground up :)

Remember, the more gears the better especially behind a flathead.
