Will 15" bias ply's balance any better than 16" bias?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Fordor Ron, Apr 14, 2011.

  1. Got a set of radial tires on the low buck 32 Fordor right now but I love the look of bias tires. The idea was to get it on the road with the radials and then maybe buy a set of 16" wheels and bias tires and swap them back and forth depending on what kind of driving I'm doing.

But should I just buy a set of 15" bias and run em? The wheel sizes I have are 15x5.5 front and 15x7 rear.

A lot of people say bias never really balance right in 16" but are the 15" any better? I'm kind of a nut about tires that don't balance right so I just wanted some input.

    Thanks in advance...

Bias tires just don't ride as smooth and it's just the way they are. They will actually balance up better than radials because they are heavier. I love bias tires, they look cool and it just smoke up better. But i'm old school.

Rim size really won't make any difference. Tire hight will make them ride just a little smoother

I've had better luck with the 16's than 15's, honestly. Although, I just bought a pair of 15's for the front of my F1, I'll see how they run in a week or two...

  5. I would be interested in hearing how they perform. What are the sizes your running?

  6. Let's try this again...
