I went tonight to look at a 32 that "needs some sheetmetal replaced in back". I figured a quick call to Brookville and away we go. Well one look and I knew the 32 Ford in my head was not what we were talking about. It's a 32 Plymouth. Old mild hotrod, and pretty damn cool looking. Now the problem. The rear panel below the trunk was removed with a chisel a long time ago. I need to fab a new piece but need a pic or two of the rear of one to see what I'm going to make. It's a rumble seat car, and it almost looks like above the gas tank may have been a luggage tray? I'll post pics when the car gets to my shop next week. In the mean time, feel free to post rear shots of a 32 Plymouth if you got em!
Badshifter, There were three different Plymouth models built (and sometimes registered) as 1932 models - PA (built until March '32), PB (built from April through September), and PC. The rear sheetmetal is unique on each one. Do you know which model you looked at?
Thanks, and no. I thought I was going to look at a 32 Ford. When I was pulling up the first thing I saw 2 cowl vents on the hood. I'm gonna have to get pics.
Yep, the PB has the 2 vents in the top of the cowl. I have never seen a PB with a rumble seat....I'm sure they made a few. Would love to see pics...
I have a 32 DeSoto. It's identical to a 32 Plymouth PB except for the front sheet metal. Matter of fact my car has 32 PB front sheet metal. You can see a picture of the rear on my public file. There was a guy in OK made glass for both cars. I'll try to find his web site. He may not be doing it anymore, his health was failing last time I visited with him.
Thanks guys, from the pics it looks like I can take care of it no problem. I'll post pictures when it gets started.
