CA Hambers: Anyone live near US Route 101?

I'm headed up to SF early Saturday morning to pick up a car.

Are there any Hambers along the way that wouldn't mind a phone call if I get stranded somewhere?

Here is the route I'm taking
PCH to 101 to 134

After Carmel, we're on the 101 for most of the trip.

You will p*** through Ventura County...I'll be home. I have a good supply of duct tape, bungee cords and anything else you'd need for an emergency repair.

Highway 1 from Morro Bay to Carmel is closed due to road repair- take the 101 or 5

 

I'm on 101 half way between LA&SF and I have baleing wire and bubble gum (and some other stuff)

 

I'll be in San Jose most of the day, but if you need help lemme know.
Whose car did you buy, just curious if I know it?

 

Chevy II, I live just less than a 1/4 mi. off Hwy 101,but I don';t think you will be any where close.

Once youre in the valley on the 101 I'm about 7 miles away. 134 is near me also so if something arises let me know.

 

thanks everybody. we should be ok, the car ('66 Nova Wagon) is supposed be 'done' and dependable enough to drive anywhere, but we all know how that goes.

Just looked @ your route...Hiway 1 IS closed past monterey.
You can turn off of hiway 1 at castroville and go out to 101, then 101 south..
Gotta good friend that owns a cafe here...breakfast (or lunch, depending on the time ) is on me..

On the 101 at Prunedale, Salinas.
If you follow your route from Hwy 1 then 68 to 101 you will be good.
As long as you don't go crazy at Laguna Seca.

Redlands? Sister use to own the Gay 90's Pizza place there in the 70's.

The wife and I just boarded the plane. We land at 730, head to daly city to get the car. Hopefully will be headed your way by 9am. Lunch sounds like a great idea.

They made it to lunch in Moss Landing....
After looking the car over in the parking lot we decided to put it up on the lift and check out some play in the steering.
WOW.. both lower ball joints wobble around like they have 200k + miles ( almost new CPP front end kit on the car ) look like they were never greased ! And the ball stud in the ps control valve was wobbling back and forth just as bad as the ball joints ( another "fresh" part )
We took the control valve apart and adjusted the play out, then I messed up one of the seals when I re***embled it... My bad...
So the car is still on the rack, the control valve is on the bench apart again, and we are waiting for NAPA in salinas to open @ 9am..
Every trip is an adventure...LOL !
