Color Combo Ideas/Suggestions?

hey guys..my buick is going to get painted real soon. my wife and i are racking our brains trying to find a good color combo. we were talking about a two tone. the interior is red black & grey. so we were thinking about a red flaked top black suede middle and maybe red flake on bottom. any ideas, good or bad?

Pearl white top, big*** b*** boat flake red on the rest of the body, fiesta flipper caps on the wheels. Can't go wrong with red and white.

 

i agree with gorilla, pearl (or small flake) top with heavy flake red bottom half. are those BIG wheels? or are my eyes playing tricks on me, get some 15 or 16 astro's with 1 inch whites for more 60's. or you could try and mix and go with some nice caps and wide whites.

 

i was thinking about maybe a light silver on top with boat flake, than the rest red. i'm planning on wide whites and using my stock hubcaps with large bullets in the center. i also am having cruiser skirts fabricated for it.

That's not the car for skirts! Why would you want to cover up the factory radiused wheel wells? You're suggesting the equivalent of removing an original grille shell from a deuce and replacing it with one from a Model A.

I would shave everything except port holes and the swoopy piece that runs from the front fender to the rear wheel well. Definitely clean up the hood.

Here's a picture of the color combo that I would use. Paint the C-shaped section of the lower body white, the body green, and the roof white.

I think everyone is on track.


I like black with red flaked roofs myself.

But I'd say something along the lines of a pearled roof and flaked car.

You could always single tone the car red, flake the lower portion.
Then pearl white the roof.

 

I really like that 55, wow!

 

I'm sort of getting tired of flake. How about this:

- Gloss white body, everything except the portholes shaved
- Kandy red top to match the red in your interior
- Cragar wires w/ skinny whites for the 60's look or...
- Caddy caps and wide whites for more of a 50's feel. Or...
- Reversed chromies w/ wide whites for that "just because I
****ing can" look.

 

I agree no skirts.

 

thanks for all the ideas guys!! so no skirts huh? i don't know why i'm so hung up on em'. originally i thought about shaving the rear piece of chrome(the one that goes over the rear wheel) and putting skirts on the rear. i've already nosed and decked her. i was thinking about loosing the "bombsight" on the hood and shaving the door handles. my wife keeps griping at me about shaving the door handles..."how can i get in the car if the battery goes dead?" so i probably try to get a hold of push ****on door openers. does anybody know what car those knid of door openers came on by the way? again thanks for all the ideas!! keep em' coming

You live out in the land of the scorching sun..put a black top and black below the chrome..then paint the rest a red..kinda like the yellow and white one but with red and black colors...just dont touch it in the middle of the afternoon.

But, with that said, it's your car, do with it what you wish...
