So, I have several sets of friends moving to Austin in the next 6 months or so.. And a few non car friends who already live there.. I'm THINKING of jumping the band wagon and doing the same thing.. I've kept an eye on Craigslist for places to rent and such, but locals, in your opinion what can a guy expect to pay for a place, say, 2 bedroom with a decent shop?? Right now in Seattle I have a 2bd house with a 3 car garage and a cherry tree orchard.. But it's an arm& a leg every month.. Really hoping to hear things are as inexpensive as I've already heard.. What do you guys think I should do? Is Austin Really as rad as everyone makes it out to be?? I've been all over the map, but never been to Austin..
Austin rules. I had to move to Dallas for a while and I'm counting the days til I get back. Not knocking Dallas, it's great. But I love Austin. Expect to pay between 1200-1400 for a little 3 bedroom house with a 2 car garage. Not really any 3 car garages in range, shops can be had if you're willing to drive 15 minutes and get a couple guys to go into it with you..
That wouldn't be the end of the world, although I don't know any car guys around there in real life, only on here.. I suspect I'd make some buddies pretty quickly though..
