Just got on the HAMB at the request of my son Tony. He is helping me get my 1960 Volvo 544 hot rod project off and running. We are dumping in a 351w and a T5 from a 99 Cobra. I am anxious to see the projects he has shown me on the site, and trade ideas on what works and what doesn't.
Welcome DougX, I am also building a 544. I am putting a 224 cu/in Mercruiser 4 cylinder boat engine in a 1965 544. It will put out about 225hp and weighs about 375lbs complete with a T5. I have a complete unused Mustang II front crossmember and tubular arms that I might use in the front. I would like to find an independant rear end that will take the torque. Probably something foreign like a 280Z. Anyway keep us posted as your project progresses. Dick t
