Screwed up and only got one reply the last time I tried this because of the title I used. Would really like you Hambers to give some input on restyling this beast. Just ordered 3" lower springs for the front and fabbing a set of blocks for the rear. Would really like to see what you photoshop gurus can do to show me what this sin wagon would look like in the bellflower tradition or some other mid-60s style. Really liked the recent Riv post in the same tradition and need a little "visual stimulation" to get me going.
Damn, that's a clean wagon! Aside from dropping it, it really won't need much else. I'd leave the paint alone...maybe flake or candy the roof. Pick some cool wheels like astros or chrome reverse or just add spider caps to yours. Or get creative and find some cool hubcaps to add bullets or something else to the centers. Bellflower tips. Stripe the tailgate and hood. the end.
i agree lower it,wheels, maybe a little pinstipping. other than that i'd leave it alone. besides you'll need the cash for that next project your already thinking about....lol!!
Here's mine... nice and simple. and cheap. At least we all agree, it needs to be LOW! http://images9.fotki.com/v175/free/6b604/4/408321/2069389/wagonlow-vi.jpg?500155
Travez, Thanks for taking a stab at my boat. I definitely dig those wheels and those are some krazy scallops! I was thinking of WWWs and steelies, but after lurking here for a bit, I didn't want my ass handed to me . I have FNG question for sure. I'm definitely planning on the bellflower tips. Is there anything special I'll need to do to the tips themselves to stabilize them at the rear bumper? Are they just welded to the tailpipe? Anything else I need to consider when mounting them (heat, paint damage, floppage)? Thanks for the help!
Man, that is clean. I'm w/ Barnett. Get it as low as you can stand, silver (no flake though) on the roof, and Astros or reversed chromes w/ skinny (lowrider) whites. Nice ride.
Man, seeing all these ideas is KILLING me. I knew this boat could be a nice sled, but GAWD, Zumo, you killed it. PLEASE keep them coming. The dropped springs and blocks should be installed in time for the rat rod reunion in Maryville, TN in a couple of weeks. THAT should get things kicked off. Again, many thanks.
Here's a shot...silver metalflake roof, bellflower tip, silver scallops, chrom reversed wheels, WWW...
Man, I gatta get this attachments posting stuff figgered out...Hey Zumo, I did your style, Ilike the reflection, nice touch...
