    Fellas,

Ive got a line on a one ton 32 chassis. I know everything from the K member back is of not much use...question is....has anyone used the K member(v8) with success in a standard duece or "A" frame? Also...does anyone know if it originally came with the highly coveted "heavy" axle? Front X member similar to car member? As you can tell...I have not seen the pics yet.
    Any input would be useful.

That is a great Question I have the front half of one out back. I've been wondering what to do with it....

  3. I'm pretty sure the axle is the good one,,as for the X member I'm not sure. HRP

No the axle is not the" good one" this is a big truck chassis most parts are big truck size. Big spindles, big springs, big problems adapting to smaller car size parts.

  6. do a search on 32 axles there are some good pictures that show the difference. The BB truck axle is different than the car or pickup.I believe the frame is about 1" taller than the sedan so the k member will be taller also. I am using a BB frame on my project, but i'm going to narrow it by at least 1" maybe a little more.

Grab the hogs head, nice for adapting a t5 to a flatty. The clutch lever is the same as smaller cars/pickups and hard to come by.

Save the frame rails, they are a low cost option under a highboy.

From memory, center of crossmember bearing the trans mount and pedals unbolts from stubs riveted to rails...trans mount, pedals, etc. are different from car, and mount cannot fit to 3 speed though it is somewhat similar in design.
Basically, cab and sheetmetal and the engine are the same as commercial, everything else is truck and not very readily applicable to much else.
Frame cut down in length might be interesting as a platform for a '32 pickup made for serious heavy use, though...it would be a lot stronger than passenger/commercial and the straight rear rails would support the bed very well.
