What Rod Run would you recommend us?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by buickbybirth, Mar 1, 2011.

  1. Run to the Sun, Myrtle Beach, March 17-19

  2. Goodguys Columbus.

Lots of cars from all over the country. Lots of vendors. Great swap meet. Autocross. Hotels. Resturants. Local drag races on Friday night. Awesome after hours "hanging out" at the host hotel with hundreds of cars.

About the best I've been to in many, many years.

A vote for Cruisin the Coast too. First week in October, did the mapquest from Crossville looks like 8 hours 34 minutes / 536.36 miles. Pro's, plenty of rides (nerely 5000) 30+ miles of asphalt to cruise. Great food.
Con's Hotels - shop around for hotel/motels, the rates should be around 79., don't let'em lie and tell you 100, RV park is the best if you can get a camper. Also swap meet - run badly compared to Turkey Rod run, limited old stuff mostly new junk, costs to enter everyday so get the free one day pass for entry and get what you want that day.
Over all much nicer venue than Turkey Rod run plus it's a whole week of fun. Best of luck

Hey Reverend..............that '53 will drink the gas, and at $4.00 or more a gallon the Daytona Turkey Rod Run is gonna be an expensive trip. Better pass the collection plate a couple of times!
