I feel your pain....I lost mine 7 years ago....I miss the talks about cars....the simple advice....the sarcastic sense of humor.....

Life goes on.....just remember....your kids are going to go through the same thing with you....it's kinda how it works....

I'll add you to my prayers tonight.

Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I will keep you in my prayers.

Dealing with my father's death many years ago made me realize that all the hard work in life was trying to be at least half the man my father was. The struggle to be as cool, smart, mechanically inclined, loving and caring continues to this day.......even after 19 years.

B.F, don't be to hard on yourself brother, Dad was a car guy and would understand jammin on your ride for an event. Be happy to have those excellent memories of "Watkin's and the Vette fulie being hammered by his lead foot. Dedicate your builds to Dad and keep his memories alive, as he will be watchin your progress, that breeze you feel may just be his angel wings flappin. Be strong, move forward in his honor. Best Regardss man ~sololobo~

just about 3 years a go i finaly connected with my dad , had lived together for all my life so it was not that i just met him but some how we finaly started to understand eachother . asking questions and wondering about car stuff . he asking me what how and when in conection with restoration project i'm working on and me about his truck changing , he is 55 years old and i regret the time we just where there , but it was a big wakeup call when the doctors told me i had terminal cancer about three years ago, wich turnd out to be wrong , just have arthrites and some other strange physical problems they have not diagnosed . so be good to your dad , you or he might not be around to talk to you when you need it

so sorry to hear about your loss. i have worked with my dad for over 25 years now. lately we have had some bad days with each other(stress with the shop). i know you are in pain, but thank you for your thread. it has reminded me that i need to solve the problems i have before they can't be solved.

during these times lean on God, and he will always support you.

    thank you.

  17. Mine passed in '03. I was sitting right there with him when he left.

I'm sorry for your loss. I guess for now trad or not trad isn't an issue at this point. The blow softens with time. I don't think it ever really goes away but it softens with time.

Hey man, He knew he was loved. My folks have been gone a long time, but I still miss the simple conversations. One day at a time is all we get. Just take care of yourself and all those memories. Slim

Cherish all of your memories and remember to be thankful for the time you spent with him. My dad passed on my 11th birthday in 1984. He was only 42! I wish I knew him better but I'm still thankful for the short time.

I lost my dad eight years ago and think of him every day. Taught me so many things. I have many memories and stories from him.
If your dad raced at Watkins Glenn I'll be he gave you a story or two.
I know we are both so lucky to have had them....

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm touched to see that you were as close with your dad as you were.
I called my dad to inform him that my sister had another baby, a beautiful girl, just before St. Patrick's Day, because she has given up on him and wont bother to call. I still go through the motions and try to be a good son. My dad said we should get together some time soon, but here it is two months later and we haven't. The phone works both ways.
You are blessed to have had that strong bond, and I hope you never forget that. Don't beat yourself up because you were worrying about the car. Sounds to me like your dad knew you loved him and you knew your dad loved you. That's all that matters.
    Rest in peace, Amigo.

  29. Sorry for your loss. I know how your feeling, I lost my dad in '93. Take comfort in the fact that you all will be re-united one day...
