too much traffic, police ****, don't really care if the grand hotel makes money uh no I won't be there
after the way those douche bags treated my sister last year no we we'll be back--even with the back-pedalling free registration they offered after the fact. our whole club's stayin home--but a good crowd heading to the f 100 show in a couple of weeks.
I didn't realize it was this weekend. My wife & I just happened to be in Gatlinburg so we stopped by for the afternoon.I had a good time looking at cars while she shopped.
I went. It was one huge used car lot. For every one car on display there were 100 cars for sale. Nobody was really cruising, most cars were driven down the strip, parked, then had the "For Sale" details scrawled on the windshield. Even better, some POS stole the drip rail molding off my O/T '75 Duster while I was walking around taking pictures. I didn't even cover the Grand's stuff. I won't be back.
i was there in evening after i got back from colorado. we cruised this merc all night long on the strip.
I was there, went to have fun. I cruised all weekend in the 41 Willys Old Boston Hauler. We even had it out in the rain Friday night. Had a good ole time!!!!
i went to the one in the fall a couple years ago. It was a great time. Come from the coast of Delaware it was nice to see some different types of rides.
We didn't make it this year, but we go a lot of shows there around Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. We have a place in Gatlinburg, so we're there regularly. I've always enjoyed the shows. Yes-there are lots of cars for sale, but that's part of the appeal for me. I've even bought some cars there. From what I've seen, there's always been lots of cruising when the weather is good. The Fall Grand Run and Shades Of The Past are probably the 2 biggest, but I enjoy most of the frequent shows throughout the year. Can't please all the people, though- there's plenty of billet, gold-chainers, rat rods and the like everywhere. Usually a healthy dose of OT muscle cars too. And, usually some dumb*** pulled over for lightin' 'em up down the parkway after a half case of 'natty's- blown 3rd gen Camaro, anyone? Lol, I just p*** by stuff I don't like, and don't ***** about it. I like seeing what other guys are building and driving. Have met some nice folks along the way as well.
