Nice ride, Sam! That's why I've kept my 55 since I bought it in 1977. It's useless as transportation, and it's not a car that I'm willing to drive very far from home, but it's a kick to drive once in a while or to local car gatherings.

    That was no 7G launch.
Rev it to 7G, slide your foot off the clutch sideways.
    There's a difference.

RULER!!! Are you going to drive this one to the HAMB Drag National's this year? If so, remember to not fire the motor up @ Bonneville after the sun goes down. Maybe, you could drag the 'Bomb Factory Digger' to the corn fields this year.

Oh yea, do you have the old video of the 'motor" that blew up back in the day? I used to check the HAMB daily waiting to see that & now stuff moves in seconds off the first page of the HAMB.

You've got a good eye...it's 75 Corvette yellow. The paint was done in 1978, when there weren't as many choices for a nice bright yellow. The painter said, before he opened the paint booth doors, there's a lotta green in that. When he flung the paint booth doors open, all I could see was green.

If I was doing it again, I'd go for Fruehauf yellow.

  21. Ahh, brings back memories as a kid in upstate N.Y..
I lived across the street from a little country store and I remember around age 10 or so this gearhead with a gold 55 moved back in with his parents for a while who owned a farm up the road a few miles. He used to drive it down for cigarettes and beer about once a month. I'd sit on the bank and wait for him to leave. Had it set up gasser style with slicks, ladder bars and a blown big block. He would lite em up for me real good on most occasion.
Good stuff bro, like to see what it looks like from the outside.

Hey, Sam, someone else asked for pictures of your car, and another mentioned something that lead me to think you might be selling it. We need more poop now that you've got us all frothing at the mouths...post some pictures (outside of the car, engine, interior), and fill us in. Are you letting it go?
