Can someone please tell me more about the Nagle Ford, Troyer car in post 9663, is this a restored car, or a recreated vintage car? I can see that the engine is a chevy, & didn't think the car had a chevy engine when it was painted this way, maybe someone could comment a little on the history of this great looking car. Thanks

Recreated, But Yes the cars when painted this way were Chevys.

The cars before "Tube Frames " were Fords, the Orange ones were "Nagle Racers" Dave Nagle/ Nagle Ford

The White cars were "Troyer Enginerring" an tube framed. KT can tell you the yrs,his was an orange #9

Would one of them be the dad of the Czarnecki Bros who still own a modified?

I spotted a couple of race for them - actually i spotted for my friend who drove a couple of races for them after they parted ways with TC.

Great guys and well prepared cars.

Definitely....., so much to look at, the attitude of the cars hard on the gas, the helmet, the bandanna, and I love the windshield cranked out!

Ralph......MT first ran Chevys in the summer of '73. The car in the picture is a recreation of the 1975 car and a fine one at that. That was the year the first tube chassis was built........................kt

In picture 9688, Charlie J.'s #1, check out the FIRESTONE sticker, the car has Goodyears on it.

  9. That's a great looking modified. That was in the era where ya' still used a "stock car". I always liked lettering where they used a checkered flag. I think Charland used that on his #3 cars :cool:.

  10. You beat me to a post about that. Think that's back when there were tire wars.

I can remember Cagle had a M&H stencil. He had a deal with M&H, but sometimes they weren't the fastest. Cagle would bolt on a set of other brand tires and paint the M&H logo on them with his stencil. Now that's truly looking out for your sponsor :cool:.

Yup. Definitely Butch Jelley and Lebanon Valley. He raced there in the 60's, 70's and into the 80's I believe. He is a living legend!

Thanks Bullfather. Love your Riverside Park action shots, was there mostly every Saturday night in the 60's. Here are a couple of the Simon's #9. I know they ran at Waterford Speedbowl but not sure where these were taken.

The Simon's 09 is Waterford, the next two are Lebanon Valley. Ray DeLisle is the driver in the middle picture and Gene Bergin in the right pic.

This post is not in the correct section, but who knows someone may be able to help.

I need your help finding an old part. In the pics below you see a bolt-on spindle for a winters rear end. Winters discontinued this part in the 90's, and no longer has stock. If anyone has one (or more) of these on a shelf collecting dust, I would gladly allow it to collect clay instead running on my Vintage Modified.

Go on Ebay and check auction #230609968246. There are a pair of them and so far the bid is very low. Good Luck.

  24. Yeah, I saw them. I'm one of the bidders :) . Sometimes I'll get lucky on eBay. I'll make sure if I don't get it, the high bidder won't be stealing ;) the stuff.

Andy Montanari at Danbury around 1954. He is parked behind the grandstand, probably waiting for the photographer to finish so he can get a nice cold beer at the counter behind him. Those were the days.
