I have a 53 210 i pulled the original 235 in line 6 along with the power glide trans. I'm replacing it with a 250 inline 6 and a 63 power glide trans. I know that im going to have to get a new drive shaft. Can i still use the original rear end?

  2. Nope. Gonna have to go with a open rear. Not a big deal, get a S-10 4x4 rear. lots of ratio choices. Not a tough swap. Todd

  3. ^^^^^^ What he said. I did that rear swap, works like a charm

I second that 4x4 rear end. Mine came from a '94 GMC Jimmy. same bolt pattern but different lut nut sizes...it uses Metric

tri-5 chevy's swap in also... you could probably sell your stock torque tube and rear on here to someone looking for the 3:55 gear's instead of they're 4:11's... not in hi-demand but i looked for a while before i found that setup. recycling is in!
