Ok after seeing what a fuel pump and new old eccentric is going to cost, and originality is not an issue, im tossing in the idea of running an electric fuel pump a friend has a mallory 110 that doesnt require a regulator for 80 bucks max psi on it is 6 lbs. Can anybody tell me any tips or watch out fors when doing this? Please dumn it down a bit for me. Also wondering best way to wire it. thanks HAMB family for all the help so far. take a look at the riv to see what your helping with if you want.
Put the pump near the tank and below the fuel level if at all possible. You should also have a 10 micron or smaller filter between the tank and the pump. I usually use a fuel shutoff between the filter and the tank so I can change filters without draining the tank. A lot of the fellas buy expensive relay set ups for the electrical supply to the oump. I have found that a ford Starter soloniod works real well and is cheap and easy to set up. Your choice on that but you need something. The relay setups are out of the box and on your ride and the soloniod you have to think a little bit to wire up but either will do the job.
I question the need for an electric pump. the mechanical pumps are easily gotten as are the eccentrics and cheap to boot. I get fuel pumps from my local parts house for $25, you should be able to pick up an eccentric for about $10 from as well. Not sure who you went through that thought it was expensive. As for an electric pump without a regulator. Good luck, if it's an Edelbrock carb I still use them. I've had pretty good luck with the Holley's and Summit brand which I believe are rebranded Holley's
Its a Mallory 110 with filter, according to Summit Racing its a 6lb pressure and reg is not required. Faso had told me the eccentric was hard to find and expensive. Ive made quite a few searches and have not found a repop, and the ole ebay isnt showing any for a while now. Do you know of where to purches these?
