Good evening So I'm ready to put breaks on my 36 pu. I want a park break, under the dash, maybe something like a mid chevy pickup has, hid from all the world. I have a ford rear end from a '59 Ranch wagon under it. What I need to know is what junk yard rear end cables work the best with the least amount of fabrication and changing for length? Do I simply start with a set from a ford and swedge new ends on? Do I do something crafty with cable clamps? how do Ranger pickups size up for lenght? I really don't want to spend stupid money on new cables, or re-invent the wheel and for sure don't want a floor mounted e-brake. Is there anyone out there that has done the "homework" that would like to share with the rest of the class? Fenderless
I have a 59 Ford rear in my coupe, use the stock cables that came with the rear, cut and cable clamped to size. The rest of my system is stock 39 Ford.
Thanks thirty nine. Thought there might be someone out there with insight as to what to use exactly. I'm looking for the easy way out with out purchasing from a supplier. Maybe I'm just making this harder than it has to be. Thanks again! Fenderless
