All, getting ready to purchase a radiator for my car. Pretty much decided on the four core Walker for it. I have done some web searching and the price on these things is plum scary! Thoughts on somewhere to check for the best price? Thanks, Dennis D

I'm a big fan of Walker despite the price. I recently sold a car with a ten year old Walker in it and still going strong. They fit like a glove with simple installation. I learned a long time ago, that when it comes to Brakes, Steering and Cooling, buy the best. You won't be disappointed.

When you want the best you pay the price.Good quality radiators that give good service.

I'm lucky, my oem type rad is still cooling my 350 just fine. has all the old numbers stamped in it, definitely older than me. I'm sure my time will come.

But I bet the walker is less than a tow home.

What car are you going to put this in?

I have Walker Radiators in all my current Hot Rods,,I have never had a problem with any of them,,the same can not be said about some of the others I have used.

The Sedan has had a Walker in it for 12 years now without a problem.HRP

I have used Walkers in my last three builds, but am going to look for something else in my current build. Part of it is price, and part of it is the condenser outlets don't line up with after market kits for AC lines such as Vintage air. I have a U.S. Radiator in my 47 aerosedan, been there for 15 years, and have never had a problem. But they may be just as pricey today.

Checkout Portell in DeSoto MO. His product is great, his prices a bit less. He is a stand up guy.

Walker makes an excellent product. I've used their radiators for over 20 years...no problems. Pricey??,..no doubt. Quality?...beyond expectations. Stu

All that I have read about them indicates this. That is why I am planning on getting a Walker. Just don't want to pay 800.00 for it if someone else sells it for 650.00. Need to save some cash for other parts. Dennis D

Why not join the Alliance and and save some money on all your parts,,,I'm sure some of our vendors offer Walker Radiators and with the Alliance you could save some bucks. HRP

My 32 ROADSTER has a 1987 Walker in it. Bought it new back then for about 5 hundred dollars. It is a 4 core "Z" series. Never a problem and I drive the roadster a good bit. A few years ago when I was building my 32 3W ... I bought another Walker. "Z" series with A/C ... ouch it really hurt the pocket book but you get what you pay for. :)

Speedway ( Lincoln Neb. ) has about the best price going ( other than a ALLIANCE vendor ).

I ordered a PRC radiator for my '40 Chevy sedan and it works great. It has a 16" SPAL puller fan with shroud on the back and large condenser coil in front with a trans cooler in the botton. A one piece unit and it was around $800. Fits perfect and looks really nice.

Remember the cost of raw materials (copper) is through the roof these days.

Hell, just buy a Chinese made radiator - much cheaper.
Might as well lay off some more American workers.

Dennis, you might try Brice Thomas Radiator in Gadsden, AL. They deal only in aluminum radiators and I don't know if the item from Walker is aluminum or traditional br*** construction. Brice Thomas has a bunch of their radiators on Ebay and here is their Ebay store address: http://stores.ebay.com/Brice-Thomas-Radiator?_trksid=p4340.l2563 They make/sell good stuff and will work with you to make any mods/changes necessary to make it work for you. As an example, I've recently ordered one from them, their standard radiator for a 1936 Ford, but I wanted the top outlet moved and both outlets resized to accommodate an LS-1 engine as opposed to small block Chevy or Ford. They are available with/without ****** cooler and A/C condenser. Post addendum: I see someone else has sent you a link to the same place.

You should call Charlie Thurman at Superior Radiator in Michigan. You can find his stuff on ebay. They make tig welded aluminum radiators at their facility in Michigan....no Chinese junk. He'll make it to your specs if you need something unique. Prices are way better than the $800 you mentioned.

Yep, that's the best I have found so far also. I am going to contact a few of the Alliance vendors and see what I can find out also. I belonged to the alliance the first year I joined the group but didn't buy many parts. When it came time to renew the wife had lost her job and didn't want to let go of the money at that time to rejoin. You don't go anywhere, ok. I think I am going to have about a million questions for you before I get this thing done. Looks like it's time to close the eyes, bite the bullit and use the plastic! Thanks all for the input. You know in this hobby that at various events your going to be stuck in long lines of traffic. You better have a cooling system that works. Its no fun having your eyes glued to the temp gauge. Buy the Walker. You won't be sorry.

Have used Walkers in 7 40 Fords with small blocks and Vintage AC--use the Z series but use the Vintage condenser--all have worked very well, kept cool in hot weather and traffic--pricey but well worth the cost--no worry about overheating,etc.-some have been running for 10+ yrs with lots of miles-I'm sticking with what works-Speedway seems to have a good price.
