I am replacing the oil pump in my 1959 235 engine. I have removed the old pump and have it on the counter to change over the oil lines and the pick up to the new pump.
However, I can't get the old pick up tube off, it screws into the pump, and has been there probably since 1959...
I have tried heating it up, PB blasting, etc...I have to be careful of cracking the tube here. I dont see anyone that make a replacement. I am open to idea's here. Vice grips are about the only thing that will grab the tube well enough, but it's not budging.

2 things,...am I missing something, and If I do crack it, any idea's on a replacement?
thought this would be a 1/2 hour project.

Can't you grind the old pump around the pickup or slice it with a hacksaw and crack it with a hammer.
