55 ford grille in a 54 ford?????

has anyone done this? or seen it done? im building a 54 victoria, and i got the idea to maybe put a 55 grille in it? just looking for pictures or tips. thanks

 

We put one in a '52 Mainline but it was a tad wide as I recall......Might be a similar opening to the '54.

 

any pictures????

 

Why would you want to put a '55 grill in it when the '54 grill can look soooo good!

 

I agree, the 54 grille lookes nice. Especially on yours. I like how its narrowed and the center cone is gone. Im just trying to thinks of some subtle changes i can make.

 

I got this pic from another thread. It's a 55 grille in a '52 Ford, I think it looks fantastic, I'd like to see it in a straight-on shot.

I really want to replace the tube grille in my '52 and I think a '55 grille bar with my current parking lights would be just right. For some reason it really works with the peak in the grille opening and the front bumper.

If anyone has more pics of this car, please post them. I think I've seen a few other 52-54's with the 55 grille in it too.

Or if someone has a '55 grille center they'd sell me, one with good chrome, I'm interested. I don't need the parking lights.

 

Yeah, but that's a '54 Pontiac grille...Like it just fine though....

Have to go with the narrowed '54 item !! Great idea, and looks super !!!!!! 54 was one of Ford's better ideas, in the style dep't !

Ps; What treatment did the tail lights get ? '54, thru '56 Oldsmobile items were popular,.....
