That is awesome! I demand a build thread or I'm campaigning to get you banned.

Hay it is a roller.Cool. Nice job on the floors. You planing on using your rad support or build something from scratch? I did a chevy II like this and reused the rad support. Make mounting headlights and grill a lot easier

im new and ive been following your build( reason i joined the forum) ive got a 63 falcon built in 62 i either putting in a 302 or a 460 probably the 302 and im looking to use the welder series crossmember as you but initaily im going to use stock components from a mustang 2 but with coil overs and ill slowly upgrade. i had a few questions about the build if you have some time. i wanted to know about using the stock mustang rack and pinion and if the crossmember will take all stock parts. maybe some more questions later.thanks for any info

cool thanks that was my main concern about the crossmember. which crossmember did you use i tried to follow the link but it comes up as dead. im just trying to figure out which one to order im currently in the process of buying a stock mustang ii front end and i wanted to know if there is anything extra you think i should get from the car besides the steering colum and steering linkages. thanks again.

cool i followed the link what width crossmember did you use and are your frame rails stock with. and im really interesed in the tubing you replaced the inner fenderwells with ive been thinking of the same thing. i also saw that you replace the rear frame rails about with full square tubes, im not ready to do that yet, but i found some frame rail connectors that id like to use instead and i figure ill get similar results, but i wanted your opinon they are weld ons and ive read other peoples builds that have used them and i wanted to know your opinon on just connecting the frame rails or just replacing them altogether.

i used the 56" i think it is.. email dw, he will help with everything you need to know and is a great guy..

my whole car was a POS,, frame was rotten, engine compartment was rotten, floors,trunk,etc.. thats why i built it this way.. the front part of the frame rails are mostly original, 3" inside the new firewall to bout 2ft infront, so the crossmember is on stock rails, i just made a new frame firewall back and afew feet in front .. and since i ddont have the engine compartment, i made the engine bars to tie into my cage (eventually). Its 1-5/8"tubing. I made my own bender.

weld on connectors are ok,, tuck them up so there nice and flush (i would), gusset them and weld all along (some might not agree)..the front rail and rear rail do not line up, the front might be 29-3/4" apart or so,, rear frame is wider,, so limited for tires,, thats why i made a new frame.. its 29-3/4 apart all along..I can fit 31s under it with 15x12 rims if i wanted (thats what i built it around at first).. If your frame is good, then connectors will be alot better then the h***le of what i am going thru.

    good luck

cool thanks my car is a california car so very little rust only one little patch, i think the conectors will work but i do plan on modifying them quite a bit to connect to the floor and supports much better i also plan to do what i call and x support which is a x member that connects the opposite frame rails together. ill post some drawings soon i want to post a page on my build it would probably help a lot. i want to run wide tires in the rear but dont want to move the frame rails yet so i want to push the fenders out like the 1963 trans am falcons did. thanks for the info im gonna give dw an email and ask about the crossmembers thanks for the info.

ok that makes a lot of sense, it fills in a lot of details for me i plan on taking thicker sheet metal to connect the connecting rails to the floor and stock supports. i like what you did to connect the rails to the body and im thinking of doing something similar as my tunnel is going to have to change a lot for the six speed trans i have.
