workin on a 54 mercury. came with some old steel fender skirts. the skirts are definitely for the car. has the latch on the top, and a little tab that sticks out on each side. the tabs look like 3/16 round stock, then flatten out to get rivited to the skirt. the skirts seem to be only half the height of most skirts.. my question is- is there supposed to be a tab with a hole in it that mounts up on the quarter panel to hold the tabs that stick out of the skirt? also, does anyone have pics of these mounted, mounting tabs, and pics of the backs of them? the latches are bend, and i wanna see what a working one loooks like. thanks
Here's a photo of the brackets you need to install the skirts. They screw to the backside of the wheel opening lips and receive the skirt mounting rods you referred to in your post. I've got a set of these brackets mounted on my '54 Monterey and will photo and post them as soon as I can so you can see where and how they mount.
anyone know where i can get these clips? and does anyone have picture of them mounted on the inner wheel wells? also, anyone have close uup pictures of the top clamp on the skirt? mine are a little bent up, and dont know how they're suppposed to be
