Hey guys, I am working on my 1955 pontiac chieftain wagon (my first build) and am curious, what is the best way to lower the car without hacking it up a bunch. I want to be able to return to stock if watned. I am going for a lead sled/cruiser look. any advice is greatly appreciated. I will be uploading some pics in the next few days also! thanx

I had 3 inch drop springs made for my 57. No cutting, no heating just put them in and save your old ones if you want. Look in the Yellow Pages under "Springs" or "Truck Springs" and I'll bet you can find someone local to make you a set. If you can't find anyone in your area PM me and I can get you the contact info for the place I used.

This one has de-arched springs with 2" blocks in the rear and one and half coils cut in the front.
A local spring shop made the rear springs for me.

Dropped spindle supports from Fatman will do the job and retain the stock springs, suspension travel and ride quality.

Man thak you guys for the advice. I like the idea of having coils made, I think that will be the route I take, that with the de arched leaf springs and blocks sounds like a sure fire way
