I'm getting no vacuum out of the vacuum port on my Holley 94's (see attachment). I'm trying to hook up a vacuum gauge to tune the engine. I started the engine last night for the first time. it started fine and idled fine. It has 2 Holley 94's and is a Ford 2.3 engine.

IS this the wrong location to pull a vacuum? I thought this is where you hook the vacuum for the distributor.

    Any help?

    Thanks,
    Bryan

The Holley 94s that were used on '49-'56 Fords only produce 4-6" Hg out of that rear port, as that's all the loadomatic vacuum-only distributors and diaphragms require. At idle there should be little to no vacuum. This port should be plugged when used on any engine not using a loadomatic distributor compatable with the 94.
You need full manifold vacuum when tuning any engine, and this will be your only choice for the distributor on the 2.3, ***uming it has centrifical with vacuum advance.

So, i need to either find a hole already tapped into the intake manifold that can sniff the plenum or tap one myself. Correct?

Thanks guys. I had a hole already in the intake that i screwed a plug into. I unscrewed it and screwed in a tubed port. Hooked up a vacuum gauge and the engine held steady at 20 in\Hg at idle.

    The HAMB is awesome!

Still need to "fine tune" the idle mixture screws with the vacuum gauge hooked up... You might be able to get an even better reading...
