I had a vendor booth at VLV stage left and I was too busy to leave it and as close as I was I didn't actually see him but I gotta say he sounded great. Of all the SUN Records boys he was never at the top of my list but I came away from this show with a whole new appreciation. He played all the standards but his voice rocked silk smooth. The customers in the vendor aisles were all singing along and he absolutely brought the house down. Later he was being ******ed out of the parking lot on a golf cart the fans went wild as he p***ed running to get a closer look. He was a real star in Vegas last Saturday night in my book.

I'd never seen him before, but for an old ******, i thought he was awesome, maybe he sang a little slower, but he still played that piano well. Maybe it was one of the last times we'll see one of the 'originals' perform.

He's Jerry Lee. He no longer has to prove anything.

He was great saturday. If I can do half of what I do now at his age I'll be lucky.

I remember going to see him about 25 years ago at least...... couldn't wait to see him tear it up, kick out the bench, all that good stuff. They introduce him and he comes limping out in a cast from hip to ankle, so much for the gymnastics! LOL He was still good though!! Mike

Jerry Lee, is a handful for sure, but he is also one of the Sun Recording legends that made a huge impact. Glad to hear he was rockin in Vegas, Great Balls Of Fire!! ~sololobo~

Glad to hear Jerry Lee is still rockin. I saw him in 63' at a small dance hall in Hamilton Lake, Ind. Not only did he play the piano but he also played the drums, the guitar and the saxaphone!

I thought he was good it was nice to have seen one of the few remaining greats on stage far better performance than Chuck last year. What was disapointing for me was the crowd near where we were standing, after finding a good spot nearly an hour ahead of him coming on several groups pushed through and stood right in front of us about 5 minutes after he came on stage , so my wife and daughter couldnt see anything. There seemed to be lots of folks around us totally oblivious to the fact Jerry was even there talking loudly and general drunken banter constantly through his songs and not even bothering to applaud no respect. We left about half way through.
I sound like a moaning old git but we had travelled 6000 miles 16 hours flight to be there Jerry was going to be the highlight of our trip, if folks arent interested in him and just wanted a chat there were plenty of bars around.

The guy is 76! With all his hard livin', it is amazing that he is still alive! I saw him about 10 yrs ago @ Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, TX. Guess I caught him on a good night. He was great. You gotta remember that he is one of the guys that made the stuff up.

  16. Thanks for the replies , guys. I saw him in Australia twice about 40 years ago. He was wild then, but sounds like he's still got it. Thats good news.
