I have a pair of wheels off my T, that I want to identify. They are allegedly " No Window Halibrands", but I can't find any markings. As far as I can tell, they are magnesium. Anybody have a way of identifing these babies?-MIKE
They look like Halibrands, there were a couple company's that made midget and sprint wheels that look like Halibrand, it's easier to tell by the inside of the rim by how the webbing is done, as far as markings on them most Halibrands had the size cast into them, some would wear off from polishing.
They could be early Romeo Palamides wheels(american wheel) There was also another guy in LA building wheels that looked like Halibrands. Tom,s or Joe,s or something like that.
check out www.roadsters.com/wheels/ they have a great vintage wheel post on there. They look like early Halibrands to me. Do you have a set of 4, What size are they, are you interesed in selling them, they'd look great on my next g***er project. Drew
Look like Halibrand to me. If they were polished at one time (probably were) then the cast-in lettering was likely taken off at the polishers. Pretty common occurrence I think. I'll also add that most early Palamides (American) magnesium wheels had no markings to my knowledge.
