Or....."Man is run down and killed trying to save his $5000 car"

These days here in Australia you'd probably end up with a knife in your chest for your trouble.

  3. "Despite his injuries..." I wounder if the thief acquired a few injures himself as he was being held for the police. It can happen through no fault of the apprehender. Paved parking lots are so hard. And rough too.

I don't think the thief wouldn't have gotten too far anyway, since it sounds like he didn't know how to drive. He hit a fence, two poles, a building and a car, I ***ume all in a parking lot.

yeah, happy ending this time but in todays world no car is worth the chance of the thief haivng a knife or gun.

  8. Keep a ball bat handy, it usually works for me. ;)

Remember he who draws first blood wins. Never give a thief a chance to get the drop on you and always ***ume that he has a knife or a gun.

You on the other hand my old friend play it safe. I am not interested in loosing another one. I just don't have that many friends any more. If you loose a car I'll give you one of mine or whatever I have to get you back on the road.

this is where there should be no need for an expensive trial where the ***hole can plead innocent. if you're caught red handed, your guilty-look up what the sentence is and lock the ******* up.

X 2 and amen to that. Also I believe that thieves should have their hands removed and murderers should be euthanized if caught red handed.

Don't help the thieves by leaving keys in the car!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Due process that way I can't say you stole my car and I caught you doing it just to get even for the time you winked at my wife.

This from a man who has been accused of a lot of things most of which he hasn't done.

You're very sweet, thank you. I do have insurance, extensively covered as a matter of fact. For me it would be more of an emotional loss, not financial, if something would to ever happen to Big Olds.

  18. I do understand completely the loss it would be for you, but I did offer you one of mine. It wouldn't be the same but it would be a start. ;)

We can always build another car. We have but one life to live and I'm not sure that losing it to save a car makes any sence. Now maybe the "Big Olds" is another story.

Anything can be replaced. Sorry hunny, but even "Big Olds" could be replaced. The new one would be it's offspring or a sibling maybe. It's not the car. It's you and those you share the time with. Would it hurt? Sure it would but much less than a violent alternative. We all know that already, just playin capt obvious. On the other hand, my choice of catching a thief would be way less about what he/she was trying to get away with vs the act itself. I nabbed a thief stealing my snowblower once, he got away but not for long. Cops came in with the 6 pictures and I picked him out in 1st 2 seconds. "Wow, you did get a look at him. We already knew who it was." The ****ty ending? 6mo later the old ****er was back cruisin my parking lot again. 3 times I called the cops and they caught him again the last time but had nothing to hold him on. Old ****er in his 60s and a born loser.

  23. January 25, 2011. it's 80 degrees, it's 3 a.m. Heard cars, was that the same car? I'll get up for a look around.

    Wh- two dudes.
Silence. 5.11,..& 5.8. 80 kg both. 16 feet away, silhouettes, streetlit. Age, 20-25. They don't know I'm here.

    Has that..
    - they look at my car. they look at her ca- are they matches?
A command is murmured, the tall one; "Cmon, lets get the job done".

They look at my wife's car and pause briefly. They take two steps toward it, go for the third. I feel my face form a shape as it bellows, "What are you f___heads doing on my lawn?"
They freeze. I gut growl; " I am gonna ____ you up! " -scramble!- phone! weapon! door!..

    Gone.

    • The above scene went down in my driveway in between a couple of the burnings. Six cars burnt that night on Adelaide's North side. They evaded me & the helicopter cops.

    5'11" is dark haired caucasian.
5'8" has lighter hair . If that was a tin in his hand, he throws the juice, the other turd lights it.

We have a gent here in the town that I work in who still may be in the hospital because he ran out and tried to stop the guy who stole his car.
I don't own one thing worth getting killed over nor do I own anything worth killing someone else over. The might be staring at the business end of a short barreled 20 gage loaded with #3 buckshot until the proper authorities show up though.
But someone trys to do something to my family or my dog and I am fairly sure that I just might end up having to explain things to the authorities.

I have found that when it's real dark outside one of those 1 million candle power spotlights will cause most guys who walk into the yard to start shaking a bit when they get it full in the face from 30 ft away. They are blinded long enough for you to decide who they might be and what you need to do. And if they are sitting out on the road it helps them decide that they need to move on down the road real quick.

I hope he got a few shots in before the cops arrived..........

  28. I don't know... Not many details but it doesn't sound like it was a car worth risking your life for.
    A. He left the keys in it.
    B. He was able to catch up to it while running with a limp.
Sounds like he should have just called the cops. They could've dispatched a couple of bicycle patrols to chase it down...

I'm glad the thief got caught, but seriously.. He left his keys under the seat and that's dumb. Second of all if it gets to the point of personal injury, let it go. Insurance will cover it, and if it only has liabilty... Wasn't worth getting hurt over as the owner didn't value it that much anways. So yea, I'm glad the crook was caught, but the owner was hurt and the car got trashed trying to stop it. Not worth it in my book.
