Just got the car running after sitting for many years. It starts fine cold and runs well. Goes down the road just great. Once you shut it off warm though she wont restart. Just wants to flood. Would like to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the electric connections all clean? is it 6 volts? If so do you have "00" cables a 6 volt need heavy cables for the battery. You can not use store bought thin auto parts stoe cables that can't handle the amp.

Is the flooding happening while it s sits after running. Used to have 4 field starters built to help starting problems. X2 on the battery cables

If it's flooding but continuing to turn over fine its probably not electrical. A carb rebuild on my 235 alleviated this same issue.

Sticking needle valve in the carburetor?? Float problems?? Dried up gaskets leaking fuel inside the carburetor??

Lousy new gasoline....vaporizes and floods..not good for old engines. Try mixing Stabil
fuel stabilizer with your gasoline. You can also try a cup of ATF to a tank of gasoline. It helps stop the boiling.
    Good luck

Marvels or Seafoam will also work.

Bad condenser in distributed? Many times bad ones work when cold, fail when hot. Use a timing light to make sure your getting spark.

Check your battery voltage. Maybe your battery is weaker when it gets quite warm.

Make sure your heat riser valve is not stuck engaged. This could explain the issue.

If you run out of ideas, I would revisit the carb. The level of clean it must be can't be over emphasized.

I'm ***uming your choke works, and is turned off for a hot start.
