It's the real deal. If you closely at this picture of the 1950's Okaland Roadster Show you'll see it in the background. It's a real deal kustom

I believe you are talking about the Studebaker and not the Ford in my post. If you look at page two of my Photoshop album you can see the original picture I used, plus two photoshopped versions.

my grandfather used it to haul hay around the dairy. i think its folk art.

  6. delco666, the Buick is grand.

Quite a few built down under back in the olden days, in New South Wales you'd see Packard & Cadillac tow trucks.

There was a '55 Chevy local, like your '37 Buick, but without stakes. Metallic blue.

Hey a '50 Meteor pickup would be cool! After what you did to your Ford the Meteor ought to be a snap! I imagine a rotten Ranchero somewhere is willing to give up the inside of the bed for it. If you want, post a picture of the Meteor and I'll Photoshop it for you. Eli

I will see if I have any half decent pics of it, but man its rough!! I would probably just build my own bed floor etc would not likely find anything solid enough to use around here...although a small truck box might be a possibility.

  13. I don't think I'd convert a 4 door to a truck. You need the longer doors of a 2 door to give yourself some legroom. A 2 door station wagon works best, but not everybody wants to chop one up.

When I coverted my 4door into a truck, I had to stretch the doors by 6 inches to get the proportions right!

Actually some were built by Caribou Motor Co. in Grover City Ca.
Evel Knievel had a red one. I saw it in O'side/Carlsbad area at his friends place during the late 70's. It still had the little dash tag on it.

  21. Here's a 28 plymouth my brother picked up that was made into a truck, whats left of it [IMG] [IMG]

  22. That would be the way to do it, four door doors are shorter and tend to look funny, proportion-wise.

  23. Was probably a 2 door, look how long the doors are. I'd drive the shit out of that. Nice proportions.

Love the black Cadmino I'd drive the wheels of that and have a smile on my face the whole time. Of course you'd have to get used to having every pimp in town trying to buy it.

I forgot that I photoshopped this a long time ago. Its a Ford but easy to imagine a Mercury. After all, isn't a Mercury just a Ford with lock washers? :D
