How to chop my A five window ?

    Hi , can you take me some information and pics for chop
    my Ford A 1930 five windows I want chop it of 4"

    Wow!! You've been here for almost 3 yrs. and this is your first post.. You need to get involved, we don't bite.. Well, some of us do.......... Good luck with your chop........

    Well, we all bite, really. But if this is your first chop, you really need to do a lot of reading, measure at least 4 times, get someone else to measure 4 times, and get someone who has done it before to help you out. You also should actually see varous cars with the chop you think you want. Less than 3.5", there doesn't seem to be much point. Over 4" and you're getting a pretty low roof line.

    Also, you should definitely check out the regulations in your country for minimum windshield heights,etc. Then, also the regulations in France for registering an altered vehicle for road use. It would be a shame to do all that work and find out you're 1 cm outside the limit and can't drive the car legally.

    This is good advice. Do lots of reading here on the Hamb and you'll be fine. Don't forget to measure and think a lot. Good luck with the chop and keep us posted!

    Look up Amazon.com on the internet (a book store) Get the Tex Smith book "How to chop tops". It is about $20. Plenty of pictures and info about all types of chops. Page 74 has your car.

  15. One thing that many choppers do is to whack the roof off without removing the wood. This is fine if you're going to steel out the pillars, but if you're going to keep the wood, well it's useless when it's cut through the middle.

    I haven't got any Photo's of my coupe now but I have got
    some of my RPU 30 on the which I made a chop of 3" only
