Man, that ****s. Can you imagine the innovation, inventions, and rules bending that went on in that building? Smokey was the man. I met him at SEMA one year in the Prolong booth and we talked for about 10 minutes, mostly about that bad-*** 7/8ths scale '66 Chevelle he built to run NASCAR.
Yes ineed he was The Man. What about the time he was made to remove the fuel cell of his race car and then drove off and all the way back to that garage without the fuel cell. He had fuel line running all over the car that held a gallon or two
I guess its appropriate that Smokey's building went up in Smoke............ I met him at the PRI show a couple of years before he died. We had a booth a couple of spots over from him. For as famous as he was he was a down do earth kind of guy, we b.s.'d for an hour or so before the doors opened. Definitley one of the highlights of my life.
