Trying to get a nostalgia comp group started in Kansas. We will be racing at Great Bend KS April 30th. Looks like we might have as many as 6 FEDs there. (some injected some blown) If you have a FED, altered or funny car stop by and say hey. If you don't come out and watch but still stop by and visit.

Will do Travis, I think the group would like to race on a regular basis maybe at more than one track. We are also talking about ways to make it not so expensive so more people could participate.

Would like to see a Nostalgia Race group or races started up there. Kansas City, Wichita as well as Great Bend are cool tracks and not that far from central Oklahoma. Hope to see something brewing before long.

I thought there already was a Flathead and Inliner group in the Midwest.
They have a race once a year at Great Bend, Bandimere, and other places - a whole circuit of nostalgia guys.

I live 5 miles from Goddard. I've got an injected, altered wheelbase Chevy II that I built. Is your group open to my type of car?

Model A John let nme do some checking with the guy that is setting this up. I think the more the merrier we are open to altereds and funny cars so I think altered wheel base would be cool. I will get back to you

Maybe you guys should get ahold of Jerry ***us and bring some FED rides up to the Run What Cha Brung drags of the KKOA in Salina in July. The track isn't perfect (an old runway) but it looks cool as hell for burnouts:D

1968FED, Will you send me a PM when you get more info? No rush, I won't be able to make it to Great Bend this weekend, anyway. I am planning on going to KID Friday to do some test and tuning. Hope things go well for your group at Great Bend this weekend.

1968 FED, good to hear you will be in Salina. This may be my only event of the season over 100 miles away. Bring it on bro. ~sololobo~

sololobo look me up at Salina should have another injected fed from n.w. kansas there and Kerry is going to jump in the mix with his blown hemi fed. I talked to Hanna last week and as I was leaving his shop he says "see ya in Salina" so I hope he brings that beautiful car of his.

So what is the program exactly? Heads up, index, bracket, whoever can cross the center line first? Sounds like it might be fun.

Just got home from Great Bend. Was great to meet Rick Kester and his wonderful wife and son. Both he and Mike put on a great show. Both cars are immaculate and these guys really are having some fun!! Sure would be nice to get something going locally here. My wife Trish and I had to leave before they ran their last p*** but I sure had a great time with these hooligans. :D I look forward to racing with them. Wish more guys could have showed up. Sure wanted to meet you Butch. :) This group could definitely be a ton of fun. Lippy (putting the project into high gear) :D

Great to meet you too Lippy. They had a major oil down and didn't get back running until about 10 so we packed up and left. Just got home 2 a.m. Rick and I had a great time and we hope to meet up in Salina at Leadsled to do some p***es on Friday night.
